Girls basketball

Wilmington

The Wilmington varsity girls basketball team got the week started on Monday, as they traveled to Peotone. 

The game didn't go exactly as the Lady Wildcats planned, falling to the Blue Devils, 59-10. Megan Mann led the offense with three points, while Grace Cooper, Chloe Sanford and Jordyn Reents each followed with two.

The Lady Wildcats are back in action tonight (Thursday), as they hold their first home game of the season against Sandwich.

Reed-Custer

Reed-Custer was unable to keep up with Herscher's offense during a conference loss on Tuesday, as they dropped the game, 51-24. 

Leading scorers for the Lady Comets were Kylie Balgemann with nine, followed by Antoinette Hill and Haley Hamilton wtih four points each.

Reed-Custer hits the court again tonight against another tough I-8 opponent, Plano. The game will be held in Braidwood.

Coal City

Coal City also suffered a loss on Tuesday, as they traveled to Plano only to return with a 61-39 defeat.

Makenna Crater and Bridget Kauzlaric accounted for more than half of the offensive production, earning 13 and nine points, respectively.

The Lady Coalers hit the road again tonight, as they travel to Manteno.
