Troy C. Dixon

MORRIS—Troy C. Dixon, 49, of Morris, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023.
Born Sept. 6, 1973 in Joliet, Troy Christopher was a son of Karen Jean (Willett) Dixon, of Coal City and the late Jimmie Melvin Dixon. He was raised in Morris and in past years attended Phelan Acres Bible Church. Troy worked as a mechanic; was employed by Meineke Car Care Center in Crest Hill for several years, as well as other local automotive repair shops. Troy took pleasure in fishing, and cherished the time spent with his son, Dakota.
Survivors include his mother, Karen; son, Dakota Christopher and the mother of his son, Caryl Dixon, both of Stafford, VA; brother, Sean (Suzanne) Dixon, of Morris; half-brother, Josh; half-sister, Felicia; two nephews, Justin and Noah; four aunts: Martha McKinnis, of Texas; Linda Gray, of Oklahoma; Joyce Jackson, of Texas and Wanda Davis, of Morris and numerous cousins.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Dixon on Feb. 8, 2016 and his grandparents: Ida and Jimmie Dixon, formerly of Texas and Charles and Wilma Willett, formerly of Kentucky and two uncles, Gary Dixon and Danny Dixon, both formerly of Texas.
Private family visitation and services were held at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City with Pastor Rodney Chappell officiating. Cremation rites were accorded at the conclusion of the services, and Troy will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.
