Michael Rich Jr.

JOLIET—Michael "Mikey" Rich Jr., 53, of Joliet, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.
Born April 20, 1970 in Joliet, Michael Dale was the son of Michael Rich Sr. and Bernadette (Lake) Nealis. He was raised in Joliet and attended Joliet schools. Mikey was a cabinet maker by trade, working for Romar Cabinet Makers for six years and Brakur Custom Cabinetry for three years. He took great pride in his work and strove to demonstrate his strong work ethic. Mikey loved music and took great pleasure in playing the drums, and he was a model car enthusiast and spent countless hours building them.
Survivors include his parents, Michael Rich Sr. and Bernadette Nealis; one sister, Tammy Jo Rich; as well as numerous cousins and his nieces and nephew: Joey, Faith and Hope Mendoza, who he loved dearly.
Special thanks are extended to his cousin, Andy Smith, and his best friend, Tommy Castillo, his uncle, George Lake, and his caregiver, Paula Platt, for all their support for Mikey during his illness.
Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and there are no services planned at this time.
