Mary N. Stanley

WILMINGTON—Mary N. Stanley, 89, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield.
Born Dec. 8, 1933 in Reeds Springs, MO, Mary was a daughter of Cordial and Oval (Eaton) Henson. She was raised and educated in Reeds Springs and graduated from Reeds Springs High School. Mary moved to California where she met Robert Stanley who was serving in the military. They would get married in California, and relocated to Wilmington when Bob was discharged from active duty. Mary worked as a secretary for the Joliet Arsenal Ammunition Plant, and later as a receptionist at a local dentist office. She was an avid reader who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and watching her favorite television shows.
Mary is survived by her dear friend, Linda Latimer, of Ramsey, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Stanley, and her brother and sister.
Per Mary's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Friends are invited to gather for a graveside service on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington, where Mary will be laid to rest with her husband.
