Marie Granger

SOUTH WILMINGTON—Marie Emily Granger (nee Hoffman), 92, of South Wilmington, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Morris Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1930 in Essex, she was the daughter of Orland and Emily (nee Cutshaw) Hoffman. She graduated from Reddick High School in 1948. She married Elmer Granger on Oct. 22, 1949. Marie was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington. Her love of her life was her family. She enjoyed family get togethers and golf cart rides. She was a seamstress, great cook, gardener, and loved working in her yard. Marie was a homemaker and also worked at Wescom in Gardner.
Surviving are her son, Tim (Monica) Granger and daughter, Joy (Mark) Dinelli; five grandchildren: Emily (Rich) Collins, Jenny Dinelli, Mary (Tim) Bennett, Heidi (Tony) Pulito, and Laura Granger; four great-grandchildren: Abbey, Sawyer, Landyn and London; her siblings, sister, Helen Tendall, of Arkansas and brother, Dan Hoffman, of Herscher; brother-in-law, Don (Pat) Lenzie, of Gardner and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Elmer Granger; son, Tom Granger; and siblings, Anna Proto, George Hoffman, Alden Hoffman, Violette Sumner, Wanita Schlosser and Irene Hooper.
Visitation for Marie will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9-10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Thursday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be her grand-daughters and great-grand-daughter: Heidi Pulito, Jenny Dinelli, Emily Collins, Mary Bennett, Laura Granger and Abbey Granger. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Yatuni and Mark Dinelli
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church or the South Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department.
