Cheryl Ryan

ROMEOVILLE—Cheryl Ryan, 68, of Romeoville, and formerly of Wilmington and Coal City, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 1, 2023.
Born July 25, 1954 in Coal City, Cheryl Lynn was a daughter of Francis E. Sr. and Elsie (Barton) Ryan. She was raised in Coal City; graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1972 and went on to attend Joliet Junior College. Cheryl was employed for many years in quality control with Rockwell International and most recently worked in real estate, and was associated with Marvin Underwood Realty. She was a member of Family Harvest Church in Tinley Park, and was blessed with a strong Christian faith.
Remembered as a patient, kind and compassionate soul, Cheryl was a wonderful listener who was always there for anyone in need. She was a lover of animals, especially her birds, and Cheryl’s happy demeanor and great sense of humor will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her special friend, who was like a sister, Judy Zotos, of Romeoville; one brother-in-law, Harold “Fred” Rohrbach, of Englewood, FL; nieces and nephews: Maxine (David) Finger of Englewood; Janet (Gary) Planeta, of Coal City; Loretta (Rick) Stevens, of Oldsmar, FL; Kurt (Gail) Rohrbach, of Joliet; Francis E. “Butch” Ryan III, of Seneca and Sheila Howard, of McKinney, TX and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Richard Howard and Francis E. Ryan Jr. and sisters, Vivan Rohrbach and Mary Pitner.
Per Cheryl’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway, one block north of IL Route 113 in Coal City on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington where Cheryl will be laid to rest with her parents.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Cheryl’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
