I am by no means a “regular” Martini drinker. I consume on average five to 10 Martinis per year, all of them between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. The Martini is perhaps the MVP of the holiday cocktail party, and a drink that you absolutely must learn if you plan on hosting a gathering…you know, when we get back to hosting gatherings.
A Martini is “just gin and vermouth,” right? Technically, yes. However, the key to a great Martini as opposed to an average Martini is preparation. The most important part of Martini prep is temperature, as in cold. Ice cold. Think arctic.
