Wendy Huston’s 100-year-old home received a makeover, and the new look has prompted people to stop in the street to tell her how great her house looks with its new roof, siding and windows.
Yet, there is more to the story than what the public can see when driving past her Division Street home.
The improvements to Huston’s house were completed through the village of Coal City’s housing rehabilitation program—an initiative supported through a $447,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity [DCEO].
