It was a single story home on a sizable corner lot one block off of Broadway that was once well-maintained. But the property fell into such disrepair it had to be torn down.
The home at 95 E. Oak St., had been vacant for quite sometime when the village stepped in to take action, and by this point the county of Grundy was involved as well.
“The owner had no longer been able to maintain or pay for the property and a process by which Grundy County sells the taxes to tax purchasers began,” Village Administrator Matt Fritz said.
