Volunteers needed to pack food for the needy

Why Volunteer?
It’s a two-word question that will make you think.
Ask any Christian Help Association volunteer how they got started helping and most will name another volunteer who asked them to join.
Each volunteer has a job to do this time of year. The job does not pay monetarily but it sure does fill the heart.
“We are helping the family down the street or around the corner. We do not know all their names but we know we are helping them have a nicer Christmas season,” they might say.
“From gifts under the tree, to dinner on the table, or a warm coat to wear or a blanket across their lap, there so many ways to help others. All of us can give back to our small wonderful community,” said CHA volunteer Cynthia Ragain.
The CHA needs volunteers to help pack groceries on Friday, Dec. 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at St. Rose School. The effort will help approximately 300 families, and will only take about one hour.
“When the job is done and you look across the gym and see those bags of groceries, your heart will fill with the joy of knowing that one hour of your day will make a huge difference in others' lives,” Ragain commented.
Volunteers may not always have the time but they always have the heart.
“Listen to your heart and the time will become available in your life. Please join us Friday evening and feel your heart grow,” Ragain concluded.
