St. Juvin Post 1336 honors local veterans

St. Juvin post 1336 VFW members visited assisted living and skilled care facilities in Wilmington, Dwight and Morris this Christmas season and presented personalized service logo themed tapestry throws to residents who are veterans.
The Post started this project in 2013 as a way to recognize the service and sacrifice of local veterans who are WWII, Korean War Era and any veteran with significant health issues.
The post awards these symbols of service to our country throughout the year but make a special effort during the Christmas season to reach veterans in assisted living or skilled care facilities
This year 27 of the throws were presented and since the program's inception over 350 veterans have received the throws to honor their service to a grateful nation.
