Russell F. Harris

BRAIDWOOD— Russell Frank Harris, 40, a lifelong resident of Braidwood, passed away in July of 2020. After a courageous and long battle with depression and addiction, Russell's pain became unbearable. He fought his demons too long and could not find his peace here on Earth. He ultimately succumbed to them.
He joined his beloved late family, his parents, Brad and Geraldine Harris; his grandparents, Rosario and Caroline Odo; and his older brother, Jimmy Harris. He also left behind with grieving hearts his Aunt Yolanda Odo; his younger brother, Steven (Sarah) Harris; his nephews: James Michael (Kaitlynn), Brian, Zack, Jace, Cole and Axle Harris; and his special friend Dawn Dion and her daughter Skylar.
Russell enjoyed traveling, fishing and just spending time in nature. He loved a good bowl of Gram's pasta and a Cowboy's game. He was a jokester at heart with quick comebacks and liked to harass his addiction sponsor and close friend, his poopsie, Robin Esparza. He treasured all his friends whether he saw them once a day or once a year.
He gave life to five children: Tyler (Riahna) Harris, Alex Friddle, Steven Piccioli, Blake and Breanna Thompson. While he may not have fit the constraints of what some would consider a typical father, he carried them all deep in his heart every day.
Life is about changing. Nothing ever stays the same. Russell was working hard at changing and was succeeding.
