Richard E. Pauley

BRAIDWOOD—Richard “Dick” E. Pauley, 78, of Braidwood, passed away  Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Dick was born July 19, 1938 in Champaign, IL, the son of Raymond and Jeannette Davidson-Pauley. He married Cecelia Lazar on July 31, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Braidwood. Dick served in the Army from 1958 to 1960 and the Navy from 1960 to 1964. He was a member of the Lions. He also enjoyed playing pool, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Dick is survived by his wife, Cecelia; one son, Richard D. Pauley of Braidwood; one daughter, Celie Pauley of Braidwood; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda (Larry) Lee of Shelbyville and Mary Ellen (Vern) Osborn of Oconee; three brother and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Judy) Pauley, Oliver (Pauline) Pauley and Gary Pauley, all of Mattoon and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, two sisters, June Risinger and Ester McNabb; two brothers, Leonard and William Pauley and brother-in-law, Johnny.
Funeral services will be at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home and Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 12 p.m. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Abraham National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family’s wishes.
