Phyllis V. Richardson

CARBON HILL—Phyllis V. Richardson, 91, of Carbon Hill, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at her home. Born Dec. 19, 1930 in Streator, IL, Phyllis Virginia was a daughter of Edwin and Esther (Johnson) Richard. She was raised in Wenona, IL and graduated from Wenona High School with the class of 1949. On Sept. 27, 1953, Phyllis married Earl Richardson in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona and together they lived in Streator and Cornell, before settling in Carbon Hill (1972). Phyllis was a former member of the Morris Moose Lodge, where she was active with the Women of the Moose, and worked in the Social Quarters for many years. In recent years, Phyllis found enjoyment in working jigsaw puzzles. Survivors include her two daughters, Deborah Richardson, of Carbon Hill and Cheryl (Jack) Hebner, of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Allan Richard and Dale Richard, and many nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by both her parents, and her husband, Earl (2004). Per Phyllis’ wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway, one block north of IL Route 113 in Coal City on Friday, Jan. 14, 2021 from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Phyllis’ memory to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #967, 3835 S.
