Nick Hanson

WILMINGTON— Nick Hanson, 33, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021 at the Lightways / Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, following a brief illness.
Born July 13, 1987 in Joliet, Nicholes Albert is a son of Anne Dougan and Eric Hanson, both of Wilmington. He was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2005. Nick loved working with his hands and being outdoors. He was a ‘jack of all trades’. He enjoyed fishing and trapping, and was a great companion to his fur babies. Nick had a heart of gold, and was a truly loving soul. He was always there to help anyone in need, and was one who always put others above himself.
Survivors include his parents: Anne Dougan and Eric Hanson; his soulmate, Nichole Tsagaris and “little buddy”, Damien Barto of Wilmington; sister, Danielle Hanson (Victor Diaz) of Hesperia, CA; nieces: Katie Mae Gorney of Oswego and Sadie Autumn Diaz of Hesperia; maternal grandfather, Roger Dougan of Houston, TX, and several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his four legged companions, Diamond, Tank, Megatron, Coco and Tootles.
Nick was preceded in death by his step-father, Larry Rampa; maternal grandmother, Marion Dougan and paternal grandparents: Kathryn Bradbury and Mike Hanson.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service, 3:00 p.m.
