Matthew J. Czemske

WILMINGTON—Matthew J. Czemske, 74, of Wilmington and formerly of Berwyn and Forest View, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Parc of Joliet.
Born Aug. 21, 1942 in Oak Park, IL, Matthew James was a son of Matthew W. and Anne (Kratochvil) Czemske. He was raised in Chicago before moving to Berwyn, where he graduated from Morton West High School with the class of 1960. Matt worked as a butcher, and later went on to serve as a firefighter and assistant chief of Forest View Fire Department. Most recently he held employment as a machinist until his retirement. Matt was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He was a member of South Wilmington Sportsman’s Club for over 50 years and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors.
Survivors include his three children: Jeffrey (Madonna) Czemske, Christine Czemske and Michael Czemske (fiancé Marcela Collazo); two grandchildren, Bryan Czemske and Kelsey Czemske; one sister, Madelynn Williams; nieces and nephews: Scott, Kathy, Steve and Lynn, and several cousins.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eileen Roubal.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and inurnment will be private.
