Mary T. Grygiel

BRAIDWOOD—Mary T. “Pee Wee” Grygiel, of Braidwood, passed away Aug. 17, 2026. Born June 26, 1929, she was the daughter of Mabel and History Danzero. She went to Reed-Custer High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She lived in Braidwood her entire life.
On June 26, 1948 she married Chester Grygiel. They together had two sons Michael (Karen) and Gregory (Sue) and one daughter, Mary Ellen (Gary) Sanches.
She worked for Grinchucks Pants Factory then the Joliet Arsenal making bombs for WWII. After that she went to work for Reed-Custer School District and retired from there. She has one special brother-in-law, Jerome Grygiel, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; son, Gregory and son-in-law, Gary Sanches.
Cremation Rites were accorded by her request.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
