Mary K. Holloway

WILMINGTON—Mary K. Holloway, 70, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born Feb. 8, 1951 in New Haven, IL, Mary Kathryn was a daughter of Clayton and Mildred (Hoy) Hale. She was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1969.
Mary worked many years at Johnson & Johnson Personal Products until their closing. It was then that she went back to school to become a phlebotomist, and went on to gain employment with LabCorb from where she retired.
One who enjoyed being on a motorcycle; Mary loved her Harley and took pleasure in wood working. Family was of utmost importance to her and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Kimberly Hawks and Kevin (Samantha) Zarada, both of Wilmington; six grandchildren: Rylan and Kellan Kressel, Nick Stroud, Matthew Bruciak and Jace and Jaxon Zarada; three sisters: Donna Hale, Connie Forsythe (Leonard McCubbin) and Paula (Joe) Spurlock, all of Wilmington; her special friend, Patrick Williams, of Neosho, MO; niece, Michele Forsythe (Tom Sanford); nephews: Joey Spurlock and Jared Spurlock and great-nieces and great-nephew: Kirstyn and Kaitlyn McKim, Keegan Buza and Elliana Spurlock.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ric Holloway and her son, Michael Stroud.
The family will receive friends for a COVID observant visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington on April 20, 2021 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. Funeral service will follow Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
Those wishing to participate in the services virtually are welcome to join the live stream on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. A link for the event will be available on Mary’s Memorial Page.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington, where Mary will be laid to rest with her parents and son Mike.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
