Mary Beldon
MORRIS—Mary M. Beldon, 74, of Morris, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at Morris Hospital.
Born on Dec. 8, 1949, in Morris, Mary Madeline was a daughter of Francis E. Sr. and Frances Agnes (Adams) Halpin. She grew up in Gardner, where she graduated from Gardner South Wilmington High School. With a passion for helping others, Mary pursued her education in nursing at St. Joseph College of Nursing.
Throughout her career, Mary initially working in hospitals before transitioning to skilled care facilities, where her compassion and dedication shone brightly. A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Morris, Mary found joy in her faith and the community she cherished. Beyond her commitment to nursing and church, she had a passion for collecting porcelain dolls and enjoyed watching NASCAR, a love she shared with her late husband, Dan.
Above all, Mary was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished time spent with them.
Survivors include her two sons, Aaron Wendel, of Morris and Adam Wendel, of Oglesby, IL; five grandchildren: Aaron Wendel, Madeline Wendel, Anna Wendel, McKenna Mae Wendel and Matthew Wendel; one great-grandson, Sylas James Wendel; one brother, Francis “Frank” (Debra) Halpin, of Gardner and her sister, Donna (Bill) Wethington, of Coal City, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert “Dan” Beldon.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 E. Washington St., one block east of IL Route 47 in Morris on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. Pastor Steve Larson from First Baptist Church of Morris will officiate, and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris. Mary will be laid to rest with her late husband, Dan.
