Marilyn Bailey

COAL CITY— Marilyn Louise Bailey, 84, of Coal City, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 30, 2017 at Morris Hospital.
Born Nov. 13, 1932 in Wilmington, Marilyn Louise was a daughter of Louis and Mary (Jacklich) Gianu. She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School. On Oct. 9, 1955, Marilyn married Sheridan R. Bailey in Assumption Catholic Church, and together they made their home and raised their family in Coal City.
Marilyn worked many years in the family business, Bailey Printing, which at the time printed the Coal City Courant. She enjoyed shopping; was a wonderful grandmother and Gigi, and will be remembered for her love of following her grandchildren in their sporting events and activities.
Survivors include her son Mitch (Patti) Bailey and daughter Sherry (John) Trammel, both of Coal City; six grandchildren: Ryan (Kerrin) Bailey of Diamond, Todd Bailey (fiancé Danielle Urban) of Chicago, Tricia (Matt) Hall of Coal City, Mallory (Matt) Cryder of Carbon Hill, and Ian (Tara) Trammel and Corey (Lindsay) Trammel, both of Coal City; six great grandchildren: Caleb, Emersyn, Brock, Beau, Waylon, and Reid, with another expected, and several cousins, as well as her dear friends: Lynne Nicoletti and Yolanda Valiente, both of Coal City and Pat Tucker of Diamond.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Sheridan on March 29, 2013.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 1 between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Green flameless cremation services will follow the visitation.
A private family graveside service and inurnment will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Marilyn will be laid to rest with her late husband Sheridan.
