Marian A. Barra

COAL CITY—Marian A. Barra, 94, a lifelong resident of Coal City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Morris Hospital.
Born Sept. 18, 1924 in Coal City, Marian was a daughter of Thomas and Kathryn (Gianu) Barra. She was raised in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School class of 1942. In her earlier years, Marian worked for Hyman Clothing Factory. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening, and working in her yard.
She is survived by two sisters, Kathryn (George) Winkel, of Morris and JoAnn (Norman) Wills, of Platteville, WI; one sister-in-law, Helen Barra and one special niece, Sheryl Wills, as well as other nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank Barra and Thomas Barra Jr.; five sisters: Caroline Passini, Minnie Dransfeldt, Evelyn Macketta, Betty Wilson and Helen Barra; one nephew, James Wilson Jr. and three brothers-in-law: Joseph Macketta, Earl Dransfeldt and James Wilson.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood.
