Lorenza Gimenez

MINOOKA—Lorenza Gimenez, 68, of Minooka and formerly of Asuncion, Paraguay, Chicago and Morris, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at Morris Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1949 in Asuncion, Paraguay, Lorenza was a daughter of Pedro and Modesta (Aguero) Gimenez. She was raised and educated in Paraguay and in her early 20’s moved to Chicago. Lorenza started her career as a certified nursing assistant and dental assistant, but transitioned into child care where she proudly worked as a nanny for several Chicago families while raising her own. After moving to Morris and eventually Minooka, Lorenza enjoyed attending the Christian Life Assembly Church in Diamond. Her many interests included listening to music, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, spending time outdoors, enjoying delicious cakes and keeping her house clean, especially the dishes. Lorenza's most cherished times were always with her daughter and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Natalie Brito, of Minooka; two grandchildren, Christian White and Isabella Wike, of Minooka; one sister, Yta Lopez, of Barcelona, Spain; three nieces: Lily Colman Lopez and Pamela Colman, of Barcelona, Spain and Emi Colman, of Paraguay, as well as family friend, Brian White, of Minooka.
Lorenza was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Modesta Gimenez.
Per Lorenza's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 E. Washington St., one block east of Illinois Route 47, in Morris. Pastor Laura Wilson-Underwood will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Lorenza's memory to the family for their distribution.
