Julie Calhoun

WILMINGTON—Julie Ann Calhoun, 46, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at her home.
Born July 20, 1971 in Lebdon, IN, Julie Ann was the daughter of Linda Latimer of Wilmington and Samuel Sr. (Beverly) Wallace of Greenup, IL. She was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1990. On Aug. 2, 1997, Julie married Charles Allen “Butch” Calhoun in Wilmington.
Julie was a kind soul who enjoyed puzzles and loved to paint. She collected pencils and cherished her beloved pets: Dixie, Pixie, Tabatha, Otis and Winston.
Survivors include her parents, husband, Charles “Butch” Calhoun; brother, Samuel Jr. “Bear” (Christina) Wallace; paternal grandmother, Rose Anna Wallace; paternal aunt, Mary Hendron and paternal uncle, Lewie Wallace, all of Wilmington; maternal aunts: Elizabeth Dart of North Carolina, Judy (Gene) Bergbower of Olney, IL; Ed (Carolyn) Derler of Ramsey, IL and Arlene Drown of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Calhoun of Wilmington and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her dearest friend, Janelle Eymer of Wilmington.
Julie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard “Slick” Wallace and step-father, Tom Countryman.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Reverend Sebastian Gargol from St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington will preside.
A private inurnment will be in the family lot in St. Marie, IL at a later date.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Julie’s memory to her family for their distribution.
