Judy McDowell

WILMINGTON—Judy McDowell, 69, of Wilmington passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at her home.
Born April 11, 1949 in Russellville, AL, Judy Ann was a daughter of James and Vassie (nee Bishop) Mann.
She was raised and educated in Romeoville, and graduated from Lockport West High School with the Class of 1967. On June 8, 1968, Judy married Troy D. McDowell in Joliet.
She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved to read books from any genre. Judy’s greatest joy was raising her family and getting to create lasting memories with them, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Troy; two children: Tammy (Raymond) Luckey, of Custer Park, and Shawn (Deanna) McDowell, of Wilmington; five grandchildren: Morgan and Devyn Luckey and Sarah, Taylor and Meghan McDowell; her sister: Kathy Mann, of Lisle; sisters-in-law: Betty (Ron) Simon, of Wilmington, and Carol (Rob) Flint, of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: James M. Mann; brother-in-law: Larry McDowell; and sister-in-law: Darlene Patton.
Per Judy’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
Graveside services will be Sunday Oct. 28, 2018, 1 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery Sunset Addition in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts to Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Cremation services and memorial arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.
