Fall cleanup set for Oct. 24

    Fall cleanup for the village of Coal City residents only is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017. This year’s fall cleanup will be curbside service.
    Items not allowed are: Broken concrete, building materials, rocks, soil, household hazardous wastes including but not limited to explosives, paints, oils, solvents or other materials that may present a fire hazard, medical and biohazard wastes,  construction and/or demolition material in excess of 32-gallons including drywall, lumber, roofing materials, fencing and posts, permanent swimming pools and/or materials resulting from fires, floods or evictions.
    The village has also scheduled an extra white item, electronics and tire pickup for Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017. This pickup will also be curbside. There will be a maximum of four tires without rims. Electronics include items such as computers, adding machines, monitors, telephones and televisions. White items are anything that heats or cools such as refrigerator, washers, dryers and air conditioners.
    The last day for yard waste pick-up is Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017.
    These services are free of charge to the residents of Coal City. Everyone is asked to take advantage of these opportunities.
