Eldred “Rick” Johnson

FLORIDA—Eldred “Rick” Johnson, 72, of Daytona Beach, FL, formerly of South Wilmington, passed away, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Halifax Health-Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, FL.  
Born Sept. 13, 1945 in Joliet, he was the son of the late Mary Jane (nee Johnson) Klausing. Rick retired from Personal Products in Wilmington following 42 years of employment. He also enjoyed several years of employment at Harrah’s Casino in Joliet. He loved classic cars, butterflies, hot air balloons and classic movies.
He is survived by his sister, Virjean (Jean) Razunas; nieces, Jessica (Dave) Kuzma and Amy (Jerry) Konieczny; great-nieces: Kaitlyn Friend, Hannah, Alison and Cara Konieczny, all of Joliet; aunts, Edna Schiradelly, of Mt. Eula, NC and Helen Harms, of Minonk, IL as well as numerous cousins; step-children: Kimberly Brorsen, of Coal City; Raymond (Tracy) Sinkular, of South Wilmington and Julie (Kevin) Hibler, of Myakka City, FL; four step-grandchildren and five great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Johnson, who he married in 1985; mother, Mary Klausing; step-father, Kenneth Klausing; brother-in-law, Paul Razunas and uncle, George Johnson, along with numerous other aunts and uncles.
At Rick's request, no services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded.
