Earl Dirker

MORRIS—A. Earl Dirker “Earl”,94, of Morris, formerly Newark, passed away Wednesday Oct. 25, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born Jan. 21, 1923 in Goose Lake Township, Albert Earl was the son of Albert and Agnes (Hughes) Dirker. He was raised and educated in Goose Lake, and on November 29, 1947 he married Shirley Carter at Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City.
Earl was a life long farmer in both Goose Lake and Newark, and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the Grundy County Farm Bureau, and enjoyed attending county and state fairs, as well as farm sales and auctions. Earl was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, which was very important to him and his family.
Survivors include his sons: William and Richard Dirker, both of Morris, and Daniel (Sue) Dirker of DeKalb; one sister: Ethel Togliatti of Las Vegas, Nevada, and several nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley on March 3, 2003; one son: Robert Dirker and one sister: Esther Matteson.
Visitation will be Sunday Oct. 29, 2017 at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street, in Morris between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Oct. 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street, in Morris, with Reverend Ed Howe, CR presiding.
Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Morris, where Earl will be laid to rest with his wife.
