Donald Weir

BRAIDWOOD—Donald Watson Weir, 80, of Braidwood, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at his home.  
Donald was born June 28, 1938 in Chicago to Preston Reeves and Augusta (nee Watson) Weir. Donald graduated from Northwestern College in Chicago.  
He was a Veteran of the United States Marines, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Donald was also a Member of the Christian Life Assembly in Diamond.  
Don was a public affairs manager at Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet, retiring in 1995.  
Surviving are his wife, Donna M. (nee Perillo) Campbell-Weir, whom he married on May 15, 1998 in Joliet; brother, Charles (late Jean) Weir of Maryland; step-sons: Scott (Darcy) Davis, of Mena, AR, and Rick (Christine) Campbell, of Braidwood; step-daughters: Andrea Hartong, of Joliet, and Sandra (Guy) Hicks, of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Matt, Tony, Jessica, Amanda, Andra, Beth, Eleya, and Jeremy; and 12 great grandchildren.  
Preceding him in death were one brother, Lawrence Weir; and step-son, John Davis.
 Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorial service will be at the Christian Life Assembly in Diamond on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour preceding services.  
Pastor Randy Adams will officiate.  Committal service with military honors will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Friday, Oct. 26, at 10:30 a.m.

Cremation rites have been made under the direction of R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, 401 E. Main St., Braidwood.
