Donald Frost

BRAIDWOOD—Donald Eugene Frost, 78, of Braidwood, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. Born Nov. 26, 1943 in Wilmington, he was the son of Sherman Grant and Madge Merelene (nee Handy) Frost. Don graduated from Reed-Custer High School with the class of 1962. After high school he worked for Stepan Chemical and then worked in the maintenance department at Reichold Chemical in Morris, until his retirement on April 1, 2004. He loved his family and his two puppies. He was an ultimate Nascar fan and Chicago Bears Fan. Don was a great mechanic and thoroughly enjoyed working on dirt track motors and helping out many racers. Survivors include one brother, Sherman E. Frost, of Braidwood; step-daughter, Christine (Terry) Bennett, of Custer Park; granddaughter, Tamara (Greg) Bennett-Stock, of Michigan; two great-grandchildren, James and Elodie, who he took great pride in and enjoyed every minute he could get to be with them; one nephew and niece, Paul S. Frost, of Nebraska and Paula Nevois, of Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Madge Frost.
The family wishes to thank Lightways Hospice staff and personnel that tended to Don in his last days.
Per Don's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be held at a later date in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
