David Henke

WILMINGTON—David L. Henke, 51, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 at his home.
Born May 5, 1966 in Joliet, David Lee is a son of Lee and Fanny (Vinson) Henke of Wilmington. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1984. David was employed with Cabot Microelectronics Corporation headquarters in Aurora, Illinois.
A guy who was driven by music, Dave loved to play the drums and started in the sixth grade. Throughout the years, he played in numerous bands.
Survivors include his parents: Lee and Fanny Henke; two children: Jovi and Dakota Henke; one sister Dianna (Justin) Lawrence of Garland, Texas; one niece Jaicee Lawrence and one nephew Lucas Lawrence; and his special companion: Sammy.
Dave was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Per Dave’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial visitation and video tribute will be Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 3 p.m. until time of memorial service, 6 p.m., at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.
A private family inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dave’s memory to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
