David C. Togliatti

COAL CITY—David C. Togliatti, 76, of Coal City, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017.
Born May 11, 1941 in Eileen, IL, David Celestino was a son of Romeo J. and Louise (Clark) Togliatti. He was raised and educated in Grundy County, and on Nov. 19, 1956, David married Karen Phillips. Together they built their home and raised their family in the Coal City area..
Dave worked as a skilled carpenter his entire life, and retired from the Carpenters Local #916 after 43 years (1960-2003). Work and family were of utmost importance to Dave. He dearly loved his home in Goose Lake, enjoyed NASCAR and will be remembered for always helping others.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Karen; four children: Todd (Tammy) Togliatti, of Gilbertsville, KY; Tedd (Kathy) Togliatti, of Goose Creek, SC; Tim (Valerie) Togliatti, of Coal City and Tricia Togliatti, of Carbon Hill; six grandchildren: David Togliatti, Tiffany (Brad) Stewart, Ryan Togliatti, Luke Whalen, Lindzi (Matt) DeMarcus and Lyra Togliatti; seven great-grandchildren: Drake Stewart, Mackenna Stewart, Addison Togliatti, Reagan DeMarcus, Hannah DeMarcus, Gideon DeMarcus and Sierra DeMarcus; one brother, Richard (Linda) Togliatti, of Lake Villa; one sister, Diane (Mike) Katavich, of Braidwood; sister-in-law, Sandy Togliatti, of Ooltewah, TN and brother-in-law, Joseph T. Phillips, of Carbon Hill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo and Louise Togliatti and brother, Romeo Togliatti.
Visitation and video tribute will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 N. Broadway, one block north of Illinois Route 113, in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 110 S. School St. in Braidwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen presiding
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Braidwood.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dave’s memory to the Assumption Catholic Church Building Fund, 195 S. Kankakee St., Coal City, IL 60416.
