Daniel Feely

WILMINGTON—Daniel Richard Feely, 85, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at home with his family by his side.  
Born Aug. 19, 1933 in Brookfield, IL, he was the son of Daniel A. and Lillian Rose (nee Riewoldt) Feely. Daniel retired from the carpenters union #1889, he took great pride in his carpentry work.  He started his own contracting business “Sunwood Contruction” which served the Lisle/Downers Grove areas.  He was a member of the Goodfarm Lutheran Church in Dwight, where he served as president of the Dart League.  He was also a member of the N Scale Railroad Association and the American Numismatic Association and was a past trustee of the Shadow Lakes Association.  He participated in Boy Scouts of America and was accepted to be on the Order of the Arrow Brotherhood society.  Daniel was an avid collector of American coins and also wooden nickels.
 Surviving are his wife, Donna Jean (nee LaCount) Feely, who he married June 21, 1950 in Keokuk, MO; two sons, Dr. Richard (Carol) Feely, of Flossmoor, IL and David (Michelle) Feely, of Greely, CO; one daughter, Deborah (Monte) Middlebrooks, of Alvin, TX; six grandchildren: Ashley (Zach) Hudson, Brad Feely, Daniel (Mallory) Feely, David Feely Jr., Jacob Middlebrooks and Jacquellyn Middlebrooks; one great-grandchild, Rose Amelia Feely and one sister, Rosalind Hope (Bill) Diaz, of Lockport, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Donald J. Feely; one sister, Phyllis Jean Auxec and one brother, Frank Edward Feely.
 Funeral services will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 at 10 a.m.  Interment will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 21 from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be directed to the St. Joseph Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD  57326.
