Clarence Schilling, Jr.

WILMINGTON— Clarence Schilling, Jr., age 90, of Wilmington passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 23, 2017.
Born Sept. 10, 1926 to Clarence, Sr. and Laura (nee Seidelman) of Aurora. He was the older brother to Leroy and Gerald Schilling.
He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. Clarence was married to the late Lydia Abel of Aurora for 62 years and had three children. He was employed by ComEd as an electrician and moved the family to Wilmington in 1964. He retired in 1986.
Survivors include his two daughters: Cathy (Brian) Joseph and Beth Hansen; daughter-in-law: Tami Schilling; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters; two brothers: Leroy (the late Ethel) Schilling and Gerald (Donna) Schilling; brother-in-law: Donald Abel and brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Lois Moser.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lydia; one son: John Schilling; and one son-in-law: William Hansen.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 30, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church, 907 Luther Drive, in Wilmington from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the service in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Preferred memorials may be made in Clarence’s memory to Grace Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
