Clarence E. Mansfield

KANKAKEE—Clarence E. Mansfield, "Gene," 67, of Kankakee, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at Green Tree of Bradley Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 23, 1952 in Joliet, Clarence Eugene was a son of William and Eva (nee Eaton) Mansfield. He worked for Celotex Roofing until its closure and then Burns Security. Gene also volunteered for many years at Gift of God Street Church in Kankakee.
Survivors include three children: Erica Dennis, of Kankakee; Wesley (Mary) Mansfield, of Odell, and Patrick Mansfield, of Kankakee; one sister, Natallee Anderson, of Braidwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings: Norma Rogene Countryman, Nancy Brown, Audrey Neeley, William Mansfield and Jessie Bailey.
Per Gene's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and he will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at 11 a.m.
