BROADWAY STAR AND Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal will appear on the Coal City Performing Arts Center stage on Thursday, Nov. 21. Pascal, who originated the role of Roger in Rent, will be conducting a master class that will conclude with a showcase performance open to the public.

Through a special endowment from the Megan Bugg Concert Series, the Coal City Theatre Department will welcome Broadway star and Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal to the Coal City Performing Arts Center stage.
Pascal originated the role of Roger in the Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning musical Rent, as well as Radames in Aida. He also appeared in multiple stage productions from Shakespeare in Something Rotten to his most recent role as Harold Higgins in The Music Man. He also appeared in film and on television and has enjoyed a successful music career.
Pascal will be in Coal City on Thursday, Nov. 21 to teach a master class that will conclude with a public performance that evening in the performing arts center featuring solo performances by Pascal and master class participants. He is scheduled to perform a duet with local actor Riley Nevin who will appear in the Illinois Theatre Festival’s All-State production of Aida and the evening will conclude with a group performance of “Seasons of Love,” led by Pascal.
Tickets for this unique opportunity to see Pascal on stage are available at adampascal.brownpapertickets.com. Admission is $20 per person. Audience members will also have an option to take part in a meet and greet session with Pascal, the cost is $75 per person and includes admission to the showcase performance.
The master class will take place from 1-4 p.m. and there are two levels of participation—coaching session and participation.
Participation in the coaching session is $95, with a limited number of spots available. Student participants will need to prepare a 32-bar audition cut of a musical theatre song, with sheet music marked and ready to perform and receive feedback from the artist. Artist will listen, give critical feedback, and have the performer repeat the cut by implementing the notes given.
Performers should have a small book of songs in which they are very familiar, as Pascal may talk them through their audition book. Variety and age/type appropriate songs are encouraged.
Master class participant is a perfect option for students who want to observe and learn from a Broadway performer. These students will get to observe the master class, meet Pascal, and then perform a group number with him in the evening showcase. The cost is $25.
