Barbara J. Ballenger

BRACEVILLE— Barbara Jean Ballenger (nee Albritton), 92, of Braceville, passed away after a brief illness in her sleep surrounded by her children on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at her home.
Barbara was born March 28, 1928 in Monticello, IL, to the late Jack and Coleta (nee Hubbard) Albritton.
She moved to Clinton, IL with her mother and step-father soon to be joined by two brothers, Robert Lynn and James. She married George H. Ballenger on March 13, 1948 in Clinton, IL. They eventually moved to Braceville, IL in 1979.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, loving husband of fifty-five years, and one grandson, Matthew Aaron Ballenger.
She is survived by three children: Patricia (Bob) Domagala, Kenneth (Cathy) Ballenger, and Roy Ballenger, all of Braceville; eight grandchildren: Craig (Kelly) Bresley, of VA; Mike Domagala, of Braceville; Christopher (Maria) Ballenger, of FL; Holly Mellandorf, of FL; Kiley (Mike) Haberzetle, of Coal City; Cody (Gabe) Ballenger, and Drew Ballenger, both of Braceville. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The services will be by family only. She will be inurned in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with her beloved husband, George.
