Autopsy of woman’s body found in river is inconclusive

    An autopsy conducted Monday on the body of a woman found in the Kankakee River in Wilmington last weekend did not reveal a conclusive cause of death, according to the office of Will County Coroner Patrick K. O’Neil.
    The body of the unidentified woman was recovered from the Kankakee River off the 29000 block of North Readman Lane Saturday, July 8. The woman was pronounced dead at the shoreline at 2:45 p.m.
    The Illinois State Police is investigating. The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of the woman’s next of kin.
    The final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date pending police and toxicological reports.
