Another chance to enjoy market fresh goods

   Market Fresh on Broadway—Coal City’s farmers market—will return to Campbell Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 6.
    The week night market is one of two hosted by the village of Coal City this season. The idea for the Thursday markets was to give residents who might not have a chance to take part in the weekend events an opportunity to shop for locally grown produce and handcrafted items.
    Free ice cream will be handed out to those attending the market. The sweet treat is being provided by ComEd, who will also have representatives on hand to provide information on various inititiaves and incentives offered by the utility company.
    Vendors slated to participate in the Sept. 6 market include:
    • Apisera Craftworks— Plants, vegetables, fruits, pickled items, jams, homemade crafts.
    • Beautiful Bridal Boquets—Custom designed floral arrangements for any occasion from weddings to dances, as well as centerpieces and grave decorations.
    • Candy and Corn—Snow cones, gourmet and buttered popcorn, cookies, candy, praline nuts and cotton candy.
    • Nettle Creek Lavender Farm—Dried lavender bouquets, lavender and herbal bath and body care, sachets and herb bouquets.
    • Perkins Farm—Variety of garden grown vegetables.
    • Rogue Farm to Curbside Kitchen—Made to order breakfast items and sandwiches.
    • StoreHouse Farm—Oyster and shittake mushrooms, salad mix, lettuce and other homegrown items.
    • Sunny Bee Farms—Locally harvested honey.
    • Tonya’s Trikes and More—Diaper creations and other unique baby gifts.
    • Three Sisters Produce—Jams, jellies, spices, baked goods, vegetables, teas and soy free chicken and duck eggs, along with quail eggs.
    • Wills Farm Sweet Corn will be available and Wills Family Farm Orchard and Pumpkin Patch will be selling apples picked fresh from their trees.
    The list of vendors is subject to change.
