Ann Ellen Quirk, BVM

    IOWA—Sister Ann Ellen Quirk, BVM passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 Caritas Center in Dubuque, IA.
She was born in Milwaukee, WI on Feb. 8, 1931, to William James and Margaret Mary Roe Quirk. She entered the BVM congregation Sept. 8, 1949 from St. Augustine Parish, Milwaukee. She professed first vows on March 19, 1952, and final vows on July 16, 1957.
Sister Ann Ellen was a music teacher in Clinton, IA; Chicago, Rock Island, IL and Wilmington, where she also served as pastoral associate and parish minister.
“A true servant of the needy, Sister Ann Ellen sees Christ in everyone whom she encounters. She lives the Gospel values, loving God and neighbor as self, and affirms in her work the mission of the Sisters of Charity to help others experience acceptance and true freedom in God’s steadfast love.”
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Quirk, of Muskego, WI; sister-in-law, Marlene Quirk, of West Bend, WI; nieces, nephews and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared life for 69 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Catherine (Robert) Kiesl and brothers, William (Grace) and Robert.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, in the Marian Hall Chapel.  Sharing of Memories will be at 1:15 p.m., followed immediately by the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial is in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
