There was no holding back Saturday when Wilmington went to Sterling for the second round of the 2A football playoffs.
The Wildcats unleashed their best offensive production yet, routing Newman Central Catholic, 42-7, to advance to the Elite Eight.
The Wildcats amassed 481 yards while limiting Newman to 72 in a contest that was really no contest thanks to 35 points scored by the good guys in the second. Newman was deflated from there on as they struggled with Wilmington’s top-notch defense.
