It’s sweet when your home volleyball team wins a three-level sweep on a visiting team. It’s even sweeter when it happens during homecoming week.
That was the case Thursday when Coal City hosted Streator.
The varsity Lady Coalers 15-11 (8-3) took Streator beyond the 25-point threshold until finally pulling a 29-27 score out in the first set. The competition continued throughout the second match until Coal City pulled out in front late to take the match, 25-21.
